Electrical steel quietly becomes an electrification bottleneck

The two families of electrical steel are being pulled by different parts of the energy transition, with non-oriented grades feeding electric-vehicle motors and grain-oriented grades feeding transformers and the grid. Production capacity is heavily concentrated, with Asia-Pacific holding around seventy percent of the grain-oriented market. A soft magnetic material rarely discussed outside the industry now sits on the critical path for both vehicle electrification and grid expansion, which is the kind of overlooked dependency the Materials Library is built to surface.
