Welded condition; heat input, cooling and filler determine phase balance.

Heat input and interpass temperature must preserve phase balance and avoid intermetallic precipitation.
Solution annealing and rapid cooling are central to product quality.

Sigma and other intermetallic phases can degrade toughness and corrosion resistance.
Ferrite measurement alone does not replace full welding qualification.

Confirm the applicable specification, product form and condition before using values for design or procurement.

Available in plate, pipe, fittings and forgings, but quality depends on product route and heat-treatment control.

Higher strength can reduce section thickness; stainless scrap retains significant alloy value.
