Standards define methods or common practices; specifications set product requirements; codes may carry legal or design authority.

Material identity

Grade designations constrain chemistry, processing and properties but rarely describe every aspect relevant to service.

Qualification evidence

Testing must demonstrate performance for the intended process route, thickness, orientation, environment and variability.

Change control
