The essential transition from promising experiments to repeatable, economical and controllable manufacturing.

Scale changes the physics
Larger equipment alters heat flow, mixing, pressure, residence time, friction and defect probability. A laboratory result rarely transfers by simple geometric enlargement.
Define the process window
Stable production requires allowable ranges for feedstock, parameters, environment and equipment condition. A single successful setting is not a process window.
Design for observability
Sensors, sampling plans and traceability must reveal whether the process remains controlled. Critical variables should be measurable before defects reach final inspection.
Economics and yield
Cycle time, energy, consumables, maintenance, labour, scrap and rework determine commercial viability. High nominal performance can be defeated by low yield.
Working rule
Scale up through staged evidence: mechanism, pilot runs, capability studies and controlled release. Production readiness is a systems result, not a larger experiment.
