Processing and use
Processing
- Surface finish, pickling and passivation are decisive for corrosion performance.
- Welding is generally straightforward, but heat tint should be removed for demanding service.
Applications
- Chemical and pharmaceutical equipment
- Marine fittings
- Medical and food equipment
- Welded piping and vessels
Selection considerations
- Not immune to chloride SCC or seawater crevice corrosion.
- Specify product form, surface condition and acceptance criteria for critical service.
